Every year Ideale is a top wine from Francesco, made of 100% Barbera grapes. The hand-picked grapes are put in concrete for 20 days, then matured in a wooden barrel for another 8 months and then 2 months in the bottle before releasing the wine. He takes his time and you can tell. The wines are nice to drink but can certainly lie for a while. This Barbara? Full red, beautifully integrated tannins, black cherries and licorice. Delicious!
