Pirouettes wines
Ammerschwihr, Alsace, France
Les Vins Pirouettes is a collective of approximately 15 independent winemakers in Alsace, originally founded by Christian Binner and partners in 2009. (Christian has since left the collective) All winemakers have an organic or biodynamic approach, growing their own grapes and vinifying the wine in their basement. The label guarantees quality, community, knowledge and nature conservation. The winemakers at Les Vins Pirouettes do not hesitate to think outside the box, resulting in a rare, creative and innovative result. And they are often beautifully matured wines, which are only released when they are really ready to drink.
The collective, including: Jean Marc Dreyer, Stephane Bannwarth, Claude Straube and others, are assisted by a team with marketing, distribution and winemaking knowledge that allows them to focus on their passion: working with the grapes. The soil in Alsace influences the characteristics of the grape varieties and makes each vintage a unique wine. Each wine matures in the cellar of its winemaker and will bring out the specific characteristics of the terroir with finesse. Each cuvée has the grower's name on the bottle.
The 20 partner winemakers of Les Vins Pirouettes cultivate their vines from the north to the south of Alsace. The different soils of the wine region range from limestone to granite and sandstone, which ensures a great diversity of wine. The collective produces approximately 30 different cuvées with all the grape varieties that have made Alsace wine famous: from Gewurztraminer to Pinot blanc, Pinot gris, Pinot noir, Muscat, Sylvaner and Riesling.
